Who is kolvanna?

Kolvanna is Phil González, an amateur singer songwriter based in Leeds, UK. He joined his first bands while in 6th form in Sutton Coldfield, and then went on to play solo acoustic sets, and with bands including Rusty and Beetroot Jam when he moved to North Yorkshire.

KEY INFLUENCES: Alice in Chains, All them Witches, Audioslave, Bad Company, Black Country Communion, Chris Cornell, Corrosion of Conformity, Dan Patlansky, Down, Free, Gov’t Mule, Jared James Nichols, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Joe Bonnamassa, Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Mastodon, Megadeth, Metallica, Paul Kossoff, Rival Sons, Robin Trower, Sloper, Soundgarden, Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown, Walter Trout, Warren Haynes

This is probably a ridiculous challenge. I’ve only ever made music for my own pleasure – it never leaves my 4 walls, and never gets heard by others. So to go from zero to 5 demo albums being released is a huge step, but I’m a Change and Transformation professional in my ‘normal’ life so I’ve got some skills I can call on to help. Whether good, bad or ugly, I’m going to share my journey in the hope other home musicians can learn from it.

I’ve also got George Williams and Zac González laying down a few guitar solos on some of the unfinished tracks. Lot’s done, but still lots to do. I’m planning on releasing one song as a single, mainly to try and test the release process through DistroKid. Hopefully that will

  • Socials and tracker setup

OK, my social media accounts are setup and branded. I’m about to start reaching out to my contacts to establish a follower base, but I just need to record an introductory video first to give everything context. I’ve finished setting up my production tracker that will help me keep on top of the status of each song as well as capturing key notes and information. I’ve also listed through to the ~50 songs and ideas that I’m going to take forwards. Some are further developed than I thought while others are WAY more basic and need a huge amount of

  • Up and running!

My first post. February is planning and prep month, mainly because I‘m still working full time. So far I have: Eze has already produced some stunning drafts for the logo, and I’ve picked a favourite. I got working versions of it today and put them straight up on the site.
